What personal data does GLI collect and why?

The personal data that we may collect about you broadly falls into the following categories:

  • Information you provide voluntarily. You may be asked to provide certain personal data in order to access particular Services, use some of the features on the Website, or complete an online form on the Website. The personal data you are asked to provide may include the following:

– Personal details such as name, country of residence, etc.

– Contact information such as email address, address, etc.

  • Information we collect automatically. When you open the Website, our servers may automatically record information that your browser sends. In some countries, including countries in the European Economic Area and the UK, this information may be considered personal data under applicable data protection laws.

Specifically, this data may include information such as your device’s IP address, browser type and version, operating system type and version, language preferences or the webpage you were visiting before you came to the Website and Services, pages of the Website and Services that you visit, the time spent on those pages, information you search for on the Website, access times and dates, and other statistics.

The information we collect automatically is used only to identify potential cases of abuse and establish statistical information regarding the usage and traffic of the Website and Services. GLI reviews this statistical information on an aggregate basis that does not enable us to identify any particular user of the system.

Some of this information may be collected using cookies and similar tracking technology (collectively, “Cookies”). For further information about the type of Cookies we use, why, and how you can control Cookies, please see our Cookie Notice https://gaminglabs.com/cookies-policy/.

  • Information that we obtain from third-party sources. We may also collect personal data about you from other sources such as public databases and our joint marketing partners, but only where we have checked that these third parties either have your consent or are otherwise legally permitted or required to disclose your personal information to us.

The types of information we collect from third parties include name, work phone, work email and work address and we use the information we receive from these third parties for marketing purposes, where we are permitted to do so.

You may be able to choose not to provide us with your personal data, but where you do so, you may not be able to take advantage of some of the features on the Website or use our Services. If you have any questions about what personal data we need to provide you with the Website and Services, you are welcome to contact us using the details provided at the bottom of this Policy.

How GLI uses personal data and our legal basis for processing it

The personal data we collect from you may be used in order to:

– Deliver products or services

– Improve products and services

– Send administrative information

– Send marketing and promotional communications

– Respond to inquiries and offer support

– Request user feedback

– Improve user experience

– Enforce terms and conditions and policies

– Run and operate the Website and Services

Our legal basis for collecting and using your personal data depends on the personal data concerned and the specific context in which we collect it, how you interact with the Website and Services, and where you are located in the world.

However, we will normally only collect personal data from you if one of the following applies: (i) you have given your consent for one or more specific purposes; (ii) where we need the data to perform a contract with you (including any pre-contractual obligations); (iii) where we have a legal obligation to process your personal data; (iv) processing is necessary for the purposes of legitimate interests pursued by us or by a third party, and this does not override your rights and freedoms; (v) we need to use the personal information to protect your vital interests or those of another person.

Where we collect your sensitive personal data (for example, criminal background data obtained through background checks we carry out, or health data recorded incidentally as part of our marketing interactions), we are required to have an additional legal basis for processing this data. This legal basis will usually be that we are authorized by law to collect your data, or because we have your explicit consent.

If we ask you to provide personal information to comply with a legal requirement or to perform a contract with you, we will make this clear at the relevant time and advise you whether the provision of your personal information is mandatory or not (as well as of the possible consequences if you do not provide your personal information).  Similarly, if we collect and use your personal information in reliance on our legitimate interests (or those of any third party), we will make clear to you at the relevant time what those legitimate interests are.

We would be happy to answer any questions or provide further information concerning the specific legal basis that applies to our collecting and using your personal data – you can get in touch with us using the contact details provided below.

Who does GLI disclose my personal data to?

We may share your personal data with the following categories of recipients.

  • Trusted third parties that work with us, other affiliates and our group companies, who provide data processing services to us (for example, to assist in the operation of the Website and Services, to enhance the security of our Website, or to make the Website and Services available to you). We do not share personal data with unaffiliated third parties. These service providers are not authorized to use or disclose your information except as necessary to perform services on our behalf or comply with legal requirements. We may share your personal data for these purposes only with third parties whose privacy policies are consistent with ours or who agree to abide by our policies with respect to personal data. These third parties are given personal data they need only in order to perform their designated functions, and we do not authorize them to use or disclose personal data for their own marketing or other purposes.
  • To any competent law enforcement body, regulatory, government agency, court or other third party where we believe disclosure is (i) required by law (such as to comply with a subpoena, or similar legal process); (ii) to exercise, establish or defend our legal rights, or (iii) to protect your vital interests or those of others.
  • To an actual or potential buyer (and its agents advisers) in connection with any actual or proposed business transition, such as a merger or acquisition by another company, provided we inform the buyer that it must use your personal information only for the purposes disclosed in this Policy.
  • To any other person with your consent to the disclosure.

How GLI retains your personal data and keeps it secure

We will retain and use your personal data for as long as we have an ongoing legitimate business need to do so (for example, to provide you with Services you have requested, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements) unless a longer retention period is permitted by law. We may use any aggregated data derived from or incorporating your personal data after you update or delete it, but not in a manner that would identify you personally.

Once we no longer have an ongoing business need to process your personal data, we will delete it.

We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect the personal information that we collect and process about you.  The measures we use are designed to provide a level of security appropriate to the risk of processing your personal information.

International transfer of personal data

Depending on your location, we may transfer and store your personal data in a country other than your own. These countries may have data protection laws that are different to the laws of your country (and, in some cases, may not be as protective).

Specifically, our Website servers are located in the US, and our group companies and third party service providers and partners operate around the world.  This means that when we collect your personal information we may process it in any of these countries.

However, we have taken appropriate safeguards to require that your personal data will remain protected in accordance with this Policy and (where applicable) international transfers of your personal data will be in accordance with approved mechanisms under Chapter V of the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (the “GDPR”) and the GDPR as it forms part of UK law. For more information on this, you can contact us using the information provided below.

Your data protection rights

You may exercise certain rights regarding the personal data that we process about you. In particular, you have the right to do the following:

  • If we have collected and process your personal data with your consent, you have the right to withdraw consent. Withdrawing your consent will not affect the lawfulness of any processing we conducted prior to your withdrawal, nor will it affect processing of your personal information conducted in reliance on lawful processing grounds other than consent.
  • You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data, ask us to restrict processing of your personal information or request portability of your personal information.
  • You have the right to opt-out of marketing communications we send you at any time. You can exercise this right by clicking on the “unsubscribe” or “opt-out” link in the marketing e-mails we send you.  To opt-out of other forms of marketing (such as postal marketing or telemarketing), then please contact us using the contact details provided below.
  • You have the right to access, update, correct, or request erasure of your personal data.
  • You have the right to complain to a data protection authority about our collection and use of your personal data. For more information, please contact your local data protection authority. (Contact details for data protection authorities in the European Economic Area, Switzerland, the UK and certain non-European countries (including the US and Canada) are available here.)

We respond to all requests we receive from individuals wishing to exercise their data protection rights in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

California privacy rights

In addition to the rights as explained in this Policy, California residents who provide Personal Information (as defined in the statute) to obtain products or services for personal, family, or household use are entitled to request and obtain from us, once a calendar year, information about the Personal Information we shared, if any, with other businesses for marketing uses. If applicable, this information would include the categories of Personal Information and the names and addresses of those businesses with which we shared such personal information for the immediately prior calendar year (e.g., requests made in the current year will receive information about the prior year). To obtain this information please contact us.
