May 2010 - GLI forms GLI Interactive Testing Group and acquires TST assets.

2009 - GLI Celebrates 20 years of success in business.

2009 - GLI and the Instituto de Ayuda Financiera a la Acción Social successfully perform South America’s first field inspection of gaming devices.

2009 - GLI Italy completes lab expansion.

2009 - GLI Asia celebrates lab grand opening.

2008 - GLI becomes the first organization approved as an authorized test laboratory in accordance with the Gaming Standards Association's new Certification Program.

2008 - GLI and the South Dakota Commission on Gaming celebrate 20th anniversary of their relationship by renewing their exclusive contract.

2008 - GLI and the Normalizacion y Certificacion Electronica (NYCE) establish a business alliance to help bring testing standards to Mexico.

2008 - GLI Europe BV receives full approval from the United Kingdom Gambling Commission to test all categories of equipment.

2008 - GLI and its European office, GLI Europe, BV celebrate 10 years of service and growth.

2007 – GLI partners with Foundstone, a division of McAfee, to offer independent testing of casino operators' IT networks.

2007 – GLI and Universidad National de la Plata form partnership to create GLI South America. The new lab is based in Buenos Aires.

2007 – GLI Australia opens a new office in Melbourne, bringing the number of test labs in Australia to three.

2007 – GLI Europe, B.V. and SMI Software & Messtechnik Institut GmbH consummate transaction that creates Austria’s most extensive and capable testing laboratory and adds to GLI’s presence throughout Europe.

2007 – GLI Europe relocates its office to a larger, expanded testing facility.

– GLI Australia relocates its Sydney office to a larger, expanded testing facility.

2006 – GLI Australia – Adelaide moves to larger testing facility designed to meet specific gaming requirements of devices and systems for the Asia/Pacific regions for jurisdictions operating VLC, QCOM, X-Series and SAS protocols.

2006 – GLI awarded the first-ever gaming laboratory ISO Accreditation (17025 & 17020) by A2LA, the largest multi-discipline accreditation body in the United States. GLI is the only testing laboratory in the United States to have received both accreditations.

2006 – Las Vegas Service Center relocates and the new facility includes 28,000 square feet dedicated to systems and interoperability testing. An expanded Special Projects team is formed.

2005 – Twin testing facility expansion at Lakewood, New Jersey, world headquarters facility adding 46,000 square feet to bring total Lakewood testing space to 100,000 square feet.


2004 – GLI’s eighth laboratory opens in Bologna, Italy. GLI Italia certified 17025 by the Netherlands accreditation agency RVA.


2003 – Las Vegas Service Center successfully completes ticket-in/ticket-out system testing for the Nevada Gaming Control Board.


2002 – The opening of the new GLI world headquarters in Lakewood, New Jersey, brings GLI’s total worldwide testing space to more than 100,000 square feet.


2002 – GLI designated as the official SAS protocol test laboratory by the Gaming Standards Association (GSA). The Las Vegas Service Center is the first, and remains the only, interoperability lab of its kind set up for use by the GSA.

2001 – The Las Vegas Service Center opens for protocol and systems testing.


1999 – GLI creates the Special Projects Division to address the needs of non-gaming clients/devices – i.e. vending machines, redemption games, keno/bingo systems and tabletop amusement games.


1998 – A second Australian office opens in Sydney, New South Wales, in response to expanded gaming in the Asia/Pacific region.


1998 – Fourth international office is opened in The Netherlands as GLI Europe. This office is accredited under European Normalization (EN) 45004 and the international quality standards ISO 17020 and ISO 17025.


1996 – Third international office is opened in Pretoria, South Africa.


1995 – GLI becomes the first gaming test laboratory licensed by the New Jersey Casino Control Commission.


1995 – A western regional test facility is opened in Golden, Colorado, a duplicate of the New Jersey and Australian facilities, to facilitate local approvals and offer training to gaming regulators.


1994 – GLI establishes Gaming Laboratories Australia in Adelaide, South Australia, allowing GLI to take advantage of a “24-hour workday” for customer service and testing.


1990-1994 – GLI expands testing role to include casinos, Indian gaming facilities, and riverboat gaming jurisdictions throughout the United States.


1989 – GLI obtains a machine-testing contract with the State of South Dakota to assist in the oversight and implementation of the first organized video lottery system in the United States.


1989 – July 1, James R. Maida and Paul J. Magno merge JRM Enterprises into Gaming Laboratories International, Inc. (GLI) with the mission of providing a level certification playing field. The corporate headquarters is located in Toms River, New Jersey.


1987 – James R. Maida founds JRM Enterprises
