GLI AFRICA'S 2ND INVITATIONAL GOLF TOURNAMENT BRINGS GAMING INDUSTRY TOGETHER TO RAISE MONEY FOR LOCAL SCHOOL

MIDRAND (South Africa) 7 July 2009 – Seventy people from across the South African gaming industry teed off in GLI Africa’s 2nd Invitational Golf Tournament and raised R30 000.00 for a local school.

The event took place 29 May at the plush Blue Valley Golf Estate in Midrand. Originally conceived as a thank you to the local gaming industry for supporting GLI, the event was expanded into a fundraiser for Ivory Park Secondary School in Midrand.

Created in 2002, Ivory Park Secondary School is situated in an informal settlement of Ivory Park between Tembisa Township and Ebony Park suburban next to Midrand’s fast growing urban and industrial area. GLI Africa presented the school’s principal, Mrs. Edith Mamosebo, with a cheque for R30 000.00 at a ceremony after the golf tournament.
