GLI ASIA TESTING AND INTEROPERABLITY CENTER OPENS
Lab Is First Ever In Region

MACAO, China (December 03, 2008) – Gaming Laboratories International has reached another milestone in the company’s storied history, opening the first-ever fully operational independent testing and interoperability center in the region. The new 3,000 square foot facility is located in the China Civil Plaza in Macao.

GLI Asia Managing Director Ian Hughes said, “The driving philosophy behind opening GLI Asia is customer service. Now we have a fully functionally lab, staffed by experts with unsurpassed knowledge, to help our clients prepare for rapidly changing technologies and laying down the groundwork for the future of gaming.”

The facility is just days old and already several gaming equipment suppliers have begun submitting devices and systems. GLI Asia offers GLI clients the convenience of transferring certification letters across jurisdictions around the world.

The lab also functions as GLI’s regional headquarters, enabling suppliers, regulators and operators to utilize the center’s advanced testing and interoperability capabilities. The lab will serve several regional markets including mainland China (lottery), Macao, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and other emerging Asian gaming and lottery markets.

GLI Asia General Manager Larry Xiao said, “Since establishing a presence in Macao, GLI has enjoyed a strong working relationship with both the Macao Gaming Inspection & Coordination Bureau (DICJ) and the Macao Polytechnic Institute (MPI). We extend our gratitude to them and look forward to working together on upcoming projects and programs.”

Gaming Laboratories International operates nine fully accredited testing laboratories worldwide, in addition to fully accredited inspection bodies in America, Europe and Africa. GLI is the only independent testing laboratory of its kind to hold both U.S. and International accreditations for compliance with ISO 17025 and 17020 standards for technical competence in testing and inspection services.
